mother ship into the net at an amazing rate - ensuring that feeding
time is kept down to a minimum and at an exceptionally low running
cost.
It is quick, effective, requires virtually no maintenance and

The
Melbourne Fish Feeder is a modified Hydro-Levitator. It
is a 2" unit and has a 2 ½" hose tail on the
outlet and a 1" ball valve on the side. With water supplied
to the unit and the ball valve open, we are supplying aerated
water to the fish. You move the unit around to cover the whole
of the net spreading the food evenly. When the ball valve is
closed the fish pellets are sucked from below deck and thrown
out into the nets.
A
2" unit will throw pellets 10mm Ø x 15mm long at
1700kg/hour 55 metres into the nets.

Ready,
aim, fire! Tassal salmon farm employees Dr Trevor Dix (left)
and Craig O'Malley use a Melbourne Fish Feeder to blast
a jet of high protein feed pellets into a 25m wide sea cage in
Stringers Cove.

The
15,000 juvenile fish swarming below the water's surface and
penned in the cage, consume up to 300kg of pellets each day.
The
Melbourne Fish Feeder enables salmon farmers to balance
the provision of enough food for the fish to gain weight, without
wasting pellets and fouling the seabed beneath the cages
